Overview
Epoxy Mastic E6-131 is a solvent free, two-pack epoxy floor coating that levels itself out as it goes down. It is applied by roller or trowel at 200 to 500 microns dry, so it fills and smooths a slab in one pass rather than sitting on it as a thin film. Chemstuk supplies it in standard grey, not tintable.
The job it is written for is heavy traffic: foot and rubber tyre traffic in factories, warehouses, workshops and car parks. Chemstuk also names it as the scratch coat for smoothing rough or uneven areas before other coatings in the range go on, so a lot of it gets used as a levelling layer rather than as the finished floor.
Key Features
- Solvent free two-pack epoxy, 98 percent solids
- Self levelling, so it smooths minor surface irregularity as it flows
- High build at 200 to 500 microns dry by roller
- Gloss finish in standard grey, non tintable
- Resistant to oils, solvents and workshop chemicals
- Chemstuk states it can be spread with anti-slip aggregate to reach P5 under AS 4586-2013, and that it is designed to AS 4020 for potable water tank coating

Surface Preparation
Chemstuk specifies concrete finished with a steel trowel and prepared by enclosed light shot blasting or coarse diamond grinding, with all cementitious laitance removed to leave a dry, dust free, open textured surface. The slab needs to be at least 28 days old, at least 25 N per square millimetre, dry to 75 percent relative humidity tested to ASTM F2170, and free of curing membranes.
What You Need to Complete the Job
Prime first with Primit E6-111, which is the epoxy primer Chemstuk names for this system. Fill damaged areas with Quick Build CP-114 before you coat. Where the finished floor needs grip, add Grip-PE 711 to the top coat. The rest of the range sits in Concrete Coatings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get it in a colour?
No. Chemstuk supplies E6-131 in standard grey and lists it as non tintable. If you need a tinted floor, Indopox E6-133 is the coloured version of the same solvent free system.
How much does a kit cover?
Chemstuk gives 20 square metres per 15 litre kit, depending on concrete quality and the thickness you lay. It is a high build coating, so it covers far less ground per litre than a thin floor paint.
Can it be made non-slip?
Yes. Chemstuk states the product can be mixed or spread with anti-slip aggregate to achieve non-slip surfaces up to P5 under AS 4586-2013.
What goes over the top?
Chemstuk lists Polyurit, Wathane, Indopox and Cindopox as subsequent coats. A polyurethane topcoat is the usual choice where the floor sees daylight, because epoxy on its own chalks in sunlight.
