Overview

Quick Build CP-114 is a three part epoxy repair and build up compound. Two of the parts are the epoxy binder and the third is a ceramic powder filler, and mixed together they give a dense grey paste you trowel into damaged, cracked or chipped concrete.

It is made from the same epoxy resin as Chemstuk’s solvent free floor system, which is why it holds up in the places a cement based patch does not: abrasion, impact, water and workshop chemicals. It is also the product Chemstuk’s own data sheets name for making good damaged areas before an epoxy floor goes down, so it does two jobs, a standalone repair and the preparation step for a coating.

Mixing And Application

Mix Part A and Part B thoroughly for two to three minutes, then add Part C gradually while mixing until the paste is uniform and free of lumps. Use it inside the pot life. Apply by trowel or spatula, press it firmly into the surface so there is no void behind the repair, and level it off. Layers are fine where a deeper section needs rebuilding. Clean tools with solvent before the material cures, because once it has hardened it has to come off mechanically.

What You Need to Complete the Job

The substrate has to be clean, dry and free of contamination, with loose material ground out. Chemstuk recommends leaving a rough profile for adhesion. For fine cracks rather than volume repairs, Quick Fill PE-115 is the lighter option. Frequently Asked Questions

How long do I have once it is mixed?

Twenty to 30 minutes at 25 degrees Celsius, and less on a hot day. Mix only what you can place in that time.

When can the floor be used?

Initial set is 2 to 4 hours and full cure takes 5 to 7 days. Light use is possible once it has set, but leave it the full period before heavy loads.

Do I need a primer under the repair?

No. Chemstuk lists it as self priming. The substrate still has to be clean, dry and mechanically prepared to a rough profile.

Can I use it to level a whole floor?

It is a patching and build up compound rather than a levelling screed. For a full floor, a self levelling epoxy is the right product and this is what you use to make good the damaged areas first.
