The Dulux Avista Adhesion Add is a concentrated 200ml adhesion-promoting additive that is mixed into Dulux Avista concrete sealers to improve bond strength on difficult substrates. It is for dense, smooth or previously sealed concrete where a sealer can struggle to grip, and it reduces the risk of peeling and delamination.

A small addition to the sealer mix can be the difference between a coating that lasts for years and one that lifts prematurely. The 200ml bottle treats a full pail of sealer, and the additive is simply stirred in before application, with no special equipment required.

What You Need to Complete the Job

Pour the sealer into a clean container, stir in the full 200ml bottle for a 20L pail, and apply as normal. Use it with the General Purpose Matt, the Semi-Gloss or the Waterbased Sealer. Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need the Adhesion Add for every sealing job?

No. For most standard jobs on clean, properly prepared concrete, the sealer alone provides enough adhesion. The additive is for challenging situations: smooth power-trowelled concrete, recoating over existing sealers, high-traffic commercial surfaces and areas prone to moisture.

Can I use this with any brand of concrete sealer?

The Adhesion Add is formulated for Dulux Avista sealers. Using it with other brands may give unpredictable results and is not recommended. If you are using a non-Avista sealer, consult that manufacturer for their recommended adhesion promoter or primer.

Will the additive change the look of the sealer?

At the recommended dosage it does not affect the clarity, colour or sheen of the sealer. The finished surface looks identical to one sealed without the additive, the only difference is the stronger bond underneath.

What happens if I add too much?

Over-addition can leave the sealer slightly tacky, extend drying times, or in extreme cases cause a slight haze. The additive is a bonding promoter, not a strengthener, so more is not better. Stick to the recommended dosage.
