More Information

Overview

The AuSeal 20L Clear EC-30 is a higher-solids acrylic concrete sealer that gives exterior concrete a semi-gloss to gloss finish. It is the step up from EC25 in the AuSeal range, with around 30 percent solids so each coat builds a thicker, more durable film. It is made to protect driveways, exposed aggregate, slate, brick and terracotta against water, stains and UV.

EC-30 is a solvent-based, one-pack acrylic sealer. The higher solids content means fewer coats to reach a full film, and it delivers the deeper, wet-look sheen that decorative concrete is often sealed for. The 20 litre pail covers a full driveway or patio.

What You Need to Complete the Job

Clean the surface, pressure wash it and let it dry before sealing. Stir the sealer thoroughly, dilute the first coat by at least 20 percent with AuSeal Solvent, and apply evenly with a roller, broom or airless spray. Apply the second coat neat after 4 to 6 hours. For a pre-tinted finish, use the AuSeaL 20L Coloured Sealer. The full range is in the Concrete Sealers range.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does EC-30 mean?

EC-30 refers to the solids content of the formulation, around 30 percent. A higher solids acrylic sealer builds a thicker film per coat, which means better durability and often a deeper gloss. It is the higher-spec option above the EC25 clear sealer in the AuSeal range.

What finish does EC-30 give?

It delivers a semi-gloss to gloss finish that enhances the natural colour of concrete, exposed aggregate and pavers. It is the wet-look sheen most decorative concrete is sealed with, and it deepens and enriches the appearance of the surface.

How long before I can drive on the surface?

Allow a minimum of 5 days for full cure before vehicle traffic. Foot traffic can resume after 24 hours. Drying times depend on temperature, humidity and ventilation, so allow longer in cool or humid conditions.

Do I need a primer with EC-30?

On most clean, bare concrete, no primer is needed. The thinned first coat acts as a primer and helps the sealer penetrate. On very porous surfaces, a slightly higher dilution on the first coat improves the bond. On previously sealed surfaces, test a small area for compatibility first.
