Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does EC-30 mean?

EC-30 refers to the formulation of this AuSeaL clear sealer. It is a high-quality solvent-based acrylic sealer providing 30% solids content, delivering a durable, UV-resistant clear finish for exterior concrete surfaces.

2. What finish does AuSeaL Clear EC-30 provide?

AuSeaL Clear EC-30 delivers a semi-gloss to gloss finish that enhances the natural colour of concrete, exposed aggregate, and pavers. It provides a wet-look sheen that deepens and enriches the appearance of decorative concrete.

3. What coverage can I expect per 20L pail?

Coverage is approximately 3–5 m² per litre, giving 60–100 m² per 20L pail per coat. Two coats are recommended for optimal protection and appearance.

4. Is AuSeaL EC-30 UV-resistant?

Yes — AuSeaL Clear EC-30 is formulated with UV inhibitors to resist yellowing and degradation under Australian sunlight, making it suitable for exterior decorative concrete.

5. How long before I can drive on the surface?

Allow a minimum of 5 days for full cure before vehicle traffic. Foot traffic can resume after 24 hours. Drying times are affected by temperature, humidity, and ventilation.

6. Can I use EC-30 over an existing sealer?

Yes, provided the existing sealer is sound and compatible. Clean and test a small area first. If the old sealer is peeling or failing, strip it before application.

7. Is a primer required?

On most clean, bare concrete, no primer is required. For very porous surfaces, a thinned first coat can act as a primer. For previously sealed surfaces, test for compatibility.
