More Information

Overview

The Dulux Avista Waterbased Concrete Sealer is a low-VOC, semi-gloss clear coating for interior and exterior concrete. It is the choice for enclosed spaces, garages and projects where odour and environmental impact matter, without giving up the protection that concrete needs.

It covers a wide range of substrates, including plain concrete, pavers, stamped and stencilled finishes, coloured concrete, exposed aggregate and rock and block walls. With UV and fade resistance, good marking and hot tyre pickup resistance, and water clean-up, it suits both professional applicators and DIY homeowners.

What You Need to Complete the Job

Clean and dry the surface, then apply two thin coats by roller with a short-nap sleeve. On wet or sloped areas, mix the Slip Res Additive Crushed Glass into the final coat. For smooth or previously sealed concrete, add the Adhesion Add. The full range is in the Concrete Sealers category.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I really use this sealer indoors?

Yes, and that is one of its strengths. The water-based, low-VOC formula has no harsh solvent fumes, so it is comfortable to apply in enclosed garages, basements, retail spaces and interior concrete floors. As with any coating, keep the area ventilated while it dries.

Do I need to apply a primer first?

No primer is required for most applications. The sealer goes directly onto clean, prepared concrete and is compatible over existing solvent-based and water-based sealers. On very porous or dusty concrete, a first thinned coat diluted 10% with water can help seal the surface.

Will it resist tyre marks on my garage floor?

Yes. The sealer is formulated with good marking and hot tyre pickup resistance, so it performs well under normal residential conditions. Allow the full 4-day vehicle traffic cure time before parking on the surface for the best result.

How long will the finish last before resealing?

In typical residential conditions, expect 2 to 4 years for exterior surfaces and 3 to 5 years or more for interior floors before a maintenance coat is needed. Sun exposure, traffic and cleaning frequency all affect the interval.
