What You Need to Complete the Job

Apply two thin coats with a solvent-resistant roller sleeve directly to clean, prepared concrete. For wet or sloped areas, mix the Slip Res Additive Crushed Glass into the final coat. How does Extended Wear differ from the General Purpose Sealer?

Extended Wear uses a tougher resin system and a thicker recommended film build of 40 to 80 microns dry, against roughly 40 microns for the general-purpose range. That translates to better resistance to abrasion, traffic and chemicals, and a longer service life of typically 3 to 5 years against 2 to 4.

Do I really not need a primer?

For most clean, bare concrete, no primer is required. On particularly porous, dusty or friable concrete, a priming coat can improve adhesion and finish. For previously sealed surfaces, test a small area for compatibility and consider the Dulux Avista Pre-Sealer if adhesion is uncertain.

What happens if it rains before the sealer is fully dry?

The sealer achieves rain resistance in 2 hours under ideal conditions of 25 degrees and 50% relative humidity. Rain within that window can cause whitening, water spotting and adhesion issues. If that happens, let the surface dry and assess the damage, and always check the forecast before starting.

Is this suitable for commercial use?

Yes, for light commercial applications such as retail entrances, cafe forecourts and office pathways. For heavy industrial use with forklift traffic or aggressive chemicals, a two-pack epoxy or polyurethane system from the Avista range is the better choice.
