Overview
The Dulux Avista Waterbased Tintable Sealer Base is a water-based clear sealer that is tinted in-store to one of 24 colours, including 9 popular Colorbond shades, so a concrete surface can be matched to a home or commercial space. The 15L base gives a matt finish with excellent coverage of 4 to 8 square metres per litre.
It is a low-VOC, low-odour sealer that can be applied in a single day, with fast drying and recoat times. It can even go onto a damp surface, which makes it practical for renovation jobs where the weather window is tight. It is suited to interior and exterior concrete.

What You Need to Complete the Job
Choose the colour when ordering so the base is tinted in-store, then apply two thin coats by brush, roller or spray. For a coloured finish the base is tinted with the Water Based Tint system. Add the Slip Res Additive Crushed Glass to the final coat for wet areas. The range is in the Concrete Sealers category.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the tinting process work?
Tinting is done in-store using the Dulux Avista colour system. Choose your colour from the 24 available shades, including the 9 Colorbond colours, when you place your order, and the base is tinted before dispatch or collection. This gives accurate, consistent colour without on-site mixing.
What colours are available?
The base can be tinted to 24 colours, including 9 popular Colorbond shades that coordinate with Australian roofing, fencing and gutter colours. The range covers classic grey tones, warm sandstone and terracotta hues, and contemporary charcoal and monument shades.
Do I need a primer before applying the tinted sealer?
Using the correct primer is recommended for the best result. For bare, unsealed concrete use a suitable bare-concrete primer, and for previously sealed surfaces use a sealed-surface primer. Priming ensures even absorption, consistent colour and maximum adhesion.
Can I use this on a damp concrete surface?
Yes. One of the standout features is that it can be applied to damp, not wet, surfaces. The concrete can be slightly damp to the touch but must not have standing or pooling water. This is useful in shaded areas, cooler months or after pressure washing.
