Nutech PaveCoat Thinners is the purpose built solvent for the PaveCoat concrete sealer system. It thins the sealer for better penetration into smooth or dense concrete, keeps a consistent flow and gloss during application, and cleans brushes, rollers, spray equipment and spills after the job. It is the genuine thinner for clear, coloured, matt and high gloss PaveCoat sealers.

How much thinners should I add to PaveCoat?

The rate depends on the surface. For a smooth or steel trowelled slab, dilute up to 50% so the sealer penetrates. For rough or stipple finish concrete use around 20%, and for previously sealed or cured concrete use 0 to 10%. The first coat on a dense surface is usually the one that needs the most thinning.

Can I use a generic thinners instead?

Nutech strongly recommends using only the PaveCoat Thinners. A generic solvent can contain incompatible ingredients that change how the sealer dries, adheres and finishes. Use the genuine product to keep the system performing as designed.

Is this safe to use on concrete sealing jobs?

It is a flammable solvent, so keep it away from heat, sparks and flames, and store it in a cool, ventilated area. Use non sparking tools and an approved respirator in poor ventilation, wear gloves and eyewear, and clean spills promptly.

Why add thinners in hot weather?

Hot weather makes the sealer set faster and can trap air as bubbles. Adding about 2L of thinners per 20L of sealer slows the set slightly and helps the finish lay down flat, which reduces bubbling on the final coat.
