More Information

Overview

The Dulux Avista Slip Res Additive is a clear, granulated anti-slip additive that is mixed into or broadcast onto the final coat of a Dulux Avista concrete sealer or epoxy. The transparent glass particles create a micro-textured surface that improves slip resistance without changing the clarity, colour or sheen of the finish.

The 5kg container treats roughly 100 to 150 square metres of sealed concrete. The crushed glass is chemically inert and UV stable, so it will not discolour or degrade, which makes it the safety addition for driveways, pool surrounds and alfresco areas.

What You Need to Complete the Job

Mix the crushed glass into the final coat of a General Purpose Matt or Semi-Gloss sealer and stir well, or broadcast it onto the wet coat and sweep away the loose particles once cured. Use more for steep slopes and wet areas. Sealers are in the Concrete Sealers range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the crushed glass make my sealed concrete look cloudy or rough?

No. The glass particles are clear and transparent, so they do not affect the colour or clarity of the sealer. The surface has a fine texture underfoot but looks the same as an untextured sealed surface, and the additive is visually undetectable.

Can I use this with any brand of concrete sealer?

It is formulated for Dulux Avista sealers and epoxies. It is chemically compatible with most acrylic and epoxy coatings, but always test a small area first when using it with a non-Avista product to confirm compatibility and appearance.

How much should I add for a pool surround?

For pool surrounds and other frequently wet, barefoot areas, use the higher dosage rate, closer to 5kg per 100 square metres, for maximum grip. The surface should feel noticeably textured under a wet bare foot. Test a small patch first to make sure the texture is comfortable.

Is crushed glass better than a powder additive?

Crushed glass gives a coarser, more pronounced texture that suits sloped driveways, pool surrounds and high-traffic commercial areas. A powder additive gives a finer texture for interior floors and areas where a smoother finish is wanted. Choose based on the level of slip resistance required.
