More Information

Overview

The Storm PVC Elbow M&F 90mm 22.5 degree is a low angle male-female elbow for 90mm stormwater pipe. It makes a gentle change of direction in a pipe run with a male spigot on one end and a female socket on the other, so it can connect directly into a socket or fitting without a separate coupling.

It is made from PVC-U and is part of the complete range of 90mm stormwater elbows covering 15, 22.5, 45 and 90 degrees in both M&F and F&F formats. The fitting is solvent welded into place and complies with AS/NZS 1254 for stormwater pipe and fittings.

Key Features

  • 90mm male-female elbow with a 22.5 degree turn
  • Gentle bend keeps flow moving through the run
  • Manufactured from PVC-U
  • Solvent weld joint for a watertight connection
  • Part of a complete 90mm elbow range in M&F and F&F
  • Complies with AS/NZS 1254

Specifications

  • Size: 90mm nominal
  • Connection: male x female
  • Angle: 22.5 degrees
  • Material: PVC-U
  • Wall thickness: approximately 1.9mm
  • Standard: AS/NZS 1254

Applications

  • Gradual changes of direction in a 90mm stormwater run
  • Stepping a pipe to clear a slab edge or footing
  • Aligning pipe runs with outlets and pits
  • Above and below ground stormwater drainage

What You Need to Complete the Job

Apply solvent cement to the socket and the spigot, push the joint home, and allow about 24 hours for the joint to reach full strength before testing or backfilling. Use it with the 90mm stormwater pipe and cement with Bostik Pipe Cement Type N. The full 90mm elbow range is in the PVC Fittings range.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the M&F connection do?

The male-female connection lets the elbow join a female socket on one side and a spigot on the other in one fitting. That is useful where the pipe run needs to change direction and connect into an existing socket without adding a coupling into the joint count.

How long does the joint take to cure?

The solvent weld joint reaches handling strength quickly but should be allowed around 24 hours to reach full strength before the system is tested or backfilled. Avoid moving or loading the joint while the solvent is curing.

Can I combine this with other elbow angles?

Yes. The 22.5 degree elbow combines with the 15, 45 and 90 degree elbows in the range to build almost any change of direction. Dry-fit the combination first to confirm the total angle lines up with the outlet before cementing.

Is this suitable for buried pipe runs?

Yes. The PVC-U fitting is made for stormwater drainage and is suitable for above and below ground work. Bed the pipe and fittings evenly in the trench so the joints are not point-loaded by the backfill.
