The Storm PVC Cap Push On 90mm is the fitting that seals the open end of a 90mm stormwater pipe. It pushes over the outside of the pipe and is solvent welded to make a watertight closure, which is the standard way to terminate a pipe that is not connected to anything further.

What You Need to Complete the Job

Clean the end of the pipe, apply solvent cement to the outside of the pipe and the inside of the cap, and push the cap fully on. Allow the joint to cure before backfilling or testing. How is the cap fitted?

The cap is pushed over the outside of the pipe end and solvent welded in place. It is a push-on fitting, so you apply cement to the pipe and the cap, push it fully on, and hold it for the initial set.

Can I remove the cap later to extend the pipe?

Not without cutting. The cap is solvent welded, so it forms a permanent watertight seal. If you need access for a future extension, fit a coupling with a threaded access point instead of capping the pipe.

Is this cap suitable for buried pipe?

Yes. The PVC-U cap is made for stormwater drainage and is suitable for above and below ground work. The solvent weld joint gives a permanent watertight seal, so the capped end can be buried once cured.

Does the cap fit inside the pipe or over it?

Over it. The push-on cap fits over the outside of the 90mm pipe end. If you need an internal plug to fit inside a socket, use a cap-and-plug combination fitting that provides both functions.
