Overview
The Holman Storm PVC Stepped Adaptor is a reducer fitting that steps a stormwater pipe down through five sizes in one piece, from 90mm through 75, 65 and 50mm down to 40mm. Instead of joining several separate reducers, this single fitting carries the full step, which keeps the joint count down and the run compact.
It is made from quality recycled PVC and used for stormwater and rainwater drainage. The adaptor is solvent welded into place and complies with AS/NZS 1254 for stormwater fittings.

- Connecting a larger main to a smaller branch or outlet
- Reducing a pipe run at a tank or pit connection
- Above and below ground stormwater drainage
What You Need to Complete the Job
Cut the pipe at the size you are connecting to, dry-fit the adaptor, then solvent weld the joint. Use it with the 90mm stormwater pipe at the large end and cement with Bostik Pipe Cement Type N. Where a single step is needed rather than the full reduction, use the individual adaptors in the range. More fittings are in the PVC Fittings range.
Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes does this stepped adaptor cover?
It steps a pipe down from 90mm through 75, 65 and 50mm to 40mm in a single fitting. You solvent weld the larger pipe at one end and the smaller pipe at the other, and the intermediate steps are part of the one moulding.
Can I cut the adaptor to a specific step?
Yes. Because the adaptor is stepped, you can cut it at the step you need to match a particular pipe size. That gives you a reducer for any of the sizes along the step range without joining multiple fittings.
Is this the same as a standard reducer?
It is a multi-step reducer. A standard reducer connects two pipe sizes, while this fitting carries the full range of steps from 90mm down to 40mm. It is a more compact solution when a large reduction is needed in a short space.
Is it suitable for buried pipe runs?
Yes. The recycled PVC adaptor is made for above and below ground stormwater work, and the solvent weld joint gives a permanent watertight connection. Support the fitting evenly in the trench so the joint is not point-loaded.
