More Information

Overview

The AuSeal 20L Clear EC25 is a single-pack acrylic concrete sealer that gives exterior concrete a medium-gloss, semi-gloss finish. It is made to protect domestic driveways, patios, exposed aggregate, slate, brick and terracotta from wear, water and UV, and it is a straight one-pack system that needs no mixing.

EC25 refers to the solids content of the formulation, around 25 percent, which sits between the economy and premium tiers of the AuSeal range. The 20 litre pail is the size most driveways and patios need, and the sealer can be used on new pours and on resealing jobs.

What You Need to Complete the Job

Clean the surface, pressure wash it and let it dry before sealing. Stir the sealer well, dilute the first coat with up to 20 percent AuSeal Solvent, and apply it evenly with a roller, broom or airless spray. Apply the second coat neat after 4 to 6 hours. If you want a coloured finish, the AuSeaL 20L Coloured Sealer does the same job pre-tinted. The full range lives in the Concrete Sealers range.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between EC25 and EC-30?

The solids content. EC25 has around 25 percent solids and EC-30 has around 30 percent, so the EC-30 builds a slightly thicker film per coat. EC25 is the mid-range option that balances performance and economy, and it is the one most domestic driveways and patios need.

How many coats do I need?

Two coats are recommended for the best protection and appearance. On very porous concrete a third coat can help, but most surfaces are properly sealed with two. Let each coat dry for 4 to 6 hours before the next one goes on.

How long before I can use the surface?

The sealer is dry to the touch within a few hours, safe for foot traffic after 24 hours, and safe for vehicle traffic after 5 days. Full cure takes about 7 days. Cooler or more humid conditions extend those times, so allow extra time in winter.

Can I use EC25 on pool surrounds?

Yes, but add a slip-resistant additive to the final coat for safety when the surface is wet. The sealer has good chlorine resistance, but rinse chemical spills promptly and expect a slightly shorter service life around pools.
