More Information

Overview

The Dulux Avista Polyaspartic Sealer Part B is the hardener component of a two-part, solvent-free polyaspartic coating system. Combined with the Polyaspartic Sealer Part A in equal parts, it starts a rapid chemical cure that delivers a tough, UV-stable, high-gloss clear coating in a single application.

The 10L hardener matches the 10L Part A resin to form a 20L mixed kit covering roughly 100 to 250 square metres depending on porosity. It suits garages, car parks, hospitals, schools, roadways and commercial kitchens, anywhere a fast return to service and durability are needed.

What You Need to Complete the Job

Stir this hardener thoroughly before mixing, then combine equal volumes with the Polyaspartic Sealer Part A and apply within the 40-minute pot life. Mix only what a two-person team can lay in that window. For a longer pot life, the 2 Pack Urethane is the alternative. The system is in the Concrete Sealers range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why must I stir Part B before mixing?

Polyaspartic hardeners can settle or stratify during storage. Stirring Part B thoroughly before combining with Part A ensures a uniform chemical composition and consistent cure throughout the mix. Skipping this can cause uneven cure, soft spots or variable gloss.

What happens if I exceed the 40-minute pot life?

The mixture thickens and gels, becoming impossible to spread, and it will not bond properly. Do not apply gelled material. Dispose of the expired mix and prepare a fresh batch. Plan the work in sections and mix to match.

Can I apply a second coat if needed?

Yes. The recoat window is 1 to 18 hours. Beyond 18 hours, the surface needs light sanding for a mechanical key. For most jobs a single properly applied coat is enough, with a second coat only for highly porous surfaces that absorbed unevenly.

Is this suitable for a DIY home garage project?

The results are outstanding, but the 40-minute pot life demands efficient work that can be hard for a solo DIYer. If you can enlist a helper, it is achievable. For first-time users, the water-based epoxy with a 2 to 3 hour pot life is more forgiving.
