Overview

The Dulux Avista 2 Pack Urethane Part A is the resin component of a two-part, solvent-based urethane sealer that gives a high-gloss, non-yellowing finish on interior and exterior decorative concrete. Combined with the 2 Pack Urethane Part B, it cures to a coating with strong UV resistance and good chemical and solvent resistance.

It is the high-gloss two-part sealer in the Avista range, chosen when appearance and durability both matter. It suits stamped and stencilled concrete, exposed aggregate, coloured concrete, flake flooring systems and polished concrete bench tops, and is compliant with AS 4586:2013 slip resistance in the D1 class.

What You Need to Complete the Job

Add the full contents of the 2 Pack Urethane Part B to the Part A pail and mix for at least 3 minutes, then apply two thin coats by brush, mohair roller or airless spray. Frequently Asked Questions

How does the 2 Pack Urethane compare to a single-pack sealer?

The key difference is chemical curing. Single-pack sealers dry by solvent evaporation and can be softened by those same solvents later. Two-pack urethanes cross-link chemically into a tougher, more chemical-resistant film, which gives better resistance to fuel spills, tyre marks and cleaning chemicals.

Can I apply this over an existing acrylic sealer?

It is not recommended to apply urethane directly over acrylic without proper preparation, because the solvents can lift or wrinkle the acrylic. If upgrading from acrylic to urethane, strip the existing sealer and prepare the surface first, and test a small area before the full job.

How long before I can drive on the sealed driveway?

Allow 7 days for full cure before vehicle traffic. The sealer may be tack-free in 30 minutes to 2 hours and walkable sooner, but the full chemical cure that resists tyre marking and fuel spills takes a week. Rushing this is the most common cause of premature failure.

Can I tint the 2 Pack Urethane?

No. It is designed as a clear, high-gloss coating and is not intended to be tinted. For a coloured finish, use a Dulux Avista Tintable Base as the colour coat, then overcoat with the 2 Pack Urethane for maximum durability and gloss.
