Dulux Avista Polyaspartic Sealer Part B 10L — Fast-Cure, Single-Coat Concrete Protection Hardener
The Dulux Avista Polyaspartic Sealer Part B is the hardener component of a state-of-the-art two-part, solvent-free polyaspartic coating system. When combined with Polyaspartic Sealer Part A (10L, sold separately) in equal parts, it initiates a rapid chemical cure that delivers a tough, UV-stable, high-gloss clear coating in a single application — setting a new benchmark for speed and performance in concrete sealing.
This 10-litre hardener is matched to the 10L Part A Resin — together they form a 20L mixed kit providing coverage of approximately 100–250 m² depending on substrate porosity. The resulting coating is suitable for garages, car parks, hospitals, schools, roadways, commercial kitchens, and any environment where fast return-to-service and exceptional durability are required.
Important: This is Part B of a two-part system. You must also purchase Dulux Avista Polyaspartic Sealer Part A (10L). Mix equal volumes (1:1). Stir Part B thoroughly before mixing. Pot life is approximately 40 minutes — work efficiently with a two-person team.
Key Features & Benefits
- Rapid Chemical Cure: Walkable in 1–2 hours — the fastest return-to-service in the Dulux Avista range.
- Solvent-Free Chemistry: No VOCs from solvent carriers — safe for enclosed and sensitive environments.
- Pre-Measured Pairing: 10L Part B + 10L Part A = 20L mixed system with 1:1 ratio — simple to measure and mix.
- Single-Coat Performance: Achieves full protection in one application when applied at the correct coverage rate.
- UV & Chemical Resistant: Non-yellowing with excellent resistance to common chemicals, fuels, and cleaning agents.
Application Guidance
Stir Part B thoroughly before use. Mix equal volumes of Part A and Part B. Stir for 2–3 minutes until fully blended. Pour onto the prepared surface and spread with a squeegee, then back-roll for a uniform finish. Apply at 20–30 °C. Mix only what can be used within the 40-minute pot life (~4L per batch). Clean tools with solvent immediately.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why must I stir Part B before mixing?
Polyaspartic hardeners can develop slight settling or stratification during storage. Stirring Part B thoroughly before combining with Part A ensures uniform chemical composition and consistent curing throughout the mix. Skipping this step can result in uneven cure, soft spots, or variable gloss levels.
2. What happens if I exceed the 40-minute pot life?
The mixture will become increasingly thick and difficult to spread, eventually gelling and becoming unworkable. Do not attempt to apply gelled material — it will not flow out, will leave roller marks and uneven texture, and will not bond properly to the substrate. Dispose of expired mix and prepare a fresh batch.
3. Can I apply a second coat of polyaspartic if needed?
Yes — the recoat window is 1–18 hours. If you wait beyond 18 hours, the surface will need light sanding to provide a mechanical key for the next coat. For most applications, a single properly applied coat is sufficient. A second coat is typically only needed for highly porous surfaces where the first coat has absorbed unevenly.
4. Is this product suitable for a DIY home garage project?
Whilst the results are outstanding, the 40-minute pot life requires efficient work practices that can be challenging for a solo DIYer. If you have experience with fast-cure coatings and can enlist a helper, it is achievable. For first-time users, the waterbased epoxy (2–3 hour pot life) or 2 Pack Urethane (3–4 hour pot life) offer a more forgiving application experience.
5. How does storage differ from other Dulux Avista products?
Store both Part A and Part B in a cool, dry place in tightly sealed original containers. Part B is moisture-sensitive — exposure to humidity can cause skinning or crystallisation in the container. Always reseal immediately after dispensing. Do not store mixed product. Shelf life in unopened containers is approximately 24 months.
