More Information

Sunglaze 4mm Grey Polycarbonate Roofing Sheet

The Sunglaze 4mm Grey is the neutral workhorse of the Sunglaze standing seam range. It holds light transfer at 20% in a straightforward grey tone, giving strong shade and a cooler space under the roof while keeping enough daylight for the area to feel open. It is a good match for carports, pergolas and verandas in exposed Australian positions. Sheets are sold per metre and cut to length from 1.0m to 9.0m, with delivery Australia-wide or collection from our Truganina trade counter.

Like every panel in the range, the 4mm Grey mounts through the Sunglaze clamp system. Aluminium joiners hold the panels from underneath and at the joints, so the visible surface is clean and unbroken by screw heads. The twin surface UV2 coating blocks 99.99% of UV radiation, and the solid panel construction gives a glass like look with none of the internal flutes of a twinwall sheet.

Because the panels clamp into a concealed framework, the system suits clean architectural lines and long spans. It is a popular choice where the roof is part of the design rather than an afterthought, because the finished ceiling reads as one smooth glazed surface.

What You Need To Complete The Job

A complete Sunglaze roof needs the support and joining hardware as well as the sheets. Order the Sunglaze 100mm aluminium rafter, the aluminium base, cap and cover joiners for the panel joints, and Sunglaze infill foam to seal the eaves. Everything needed is listed in the Sunglaze category, inside the wider Polycarbonate Roofing range.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between this grey and Solar Control Grey?

Both hold light transfer at 20%. The Solar Control Grey carries an additional solar control treatment aimed at cutting heat, while this standard grey gives the same shade level in a straightforward neutral tone. If reducing heat is the main goal, the solar control version is worth the step up.

What slope does a Sunglaze roof need?

The system works on rafter or purlin construction, flat or curved, with a recommended minimum roof slope of 5 degrees. For lower slopes, the rafter design is recommended for reliable drainage across wide panels.

Are there screws visible on the top of the sheet?

No. The panels clamp into concealed aluminium joiners, so the top surface is clear of fasteners. This gives the clean, glazed look and removes the leak point that exposed screws create on through-fixed roofing.

How is the sheet priced and supplied?

The sheet is priced per metre and cut to length from 1.0m up to 9.0m. Select the length from the variations on this page. For larger custom runs, contact the store to arrange supply.

Is the grey sheet suitable for coastal areas?

Polycarbonate does not corrode, so it suits coastal exposure well. The twin surface UV2 coating protects the panel against UV damage and surface degradation, and the aluminium joiners are chosen for the same reason. Check the fixing guidance for any project close to salt water.
