More Information

Sunglaze Infill Foam 800mm

The Sunglaze Infill Foam 800mm is the strip that seals the gaps under a Sunglaze roof at the eave and flashing junctions. Even with a sleek standing seam roof, the spaces between the flat structural rafters and the glazing profiles are open to the elements, and that is where dust, leaves, birds, wasps and larger insects get in. These foam strips fill those voids and close the roof off.

The strips are made from a high-density, UV-stabilised foam that is moisture resistant and rot proof, so it will not degrade when it is exposed to wind-driven rain or summer heat. Its flexible, compression-fit design lets it follow the contours of the installation and give a tight seal, and it also dampens vibration, which reduces the chatter you can get from the roof in high winds.

Each strip is 800mm long, sized to match standard installation widths and easy to trim on site. It is a simple, inexpensive part that makes a real difference to how clean and quiet the underside of the roof stays.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the infill foam used?

It seals the gaps under the eaves and at flashing junctions where the Sunglaze rafters meet the glazing. Those spaces are otherwise open to dust, leaves and vermin, and the foam closes them off.

How long is each strip?

Each strip is 800mm long. It is designed to be easy to handle and trim on site, so you can cut it to fit the exact span between rafters or the length of a flashing junction.

Does the foam absorb water?

No. It is a high-density, moisture-resistant foam that does not soak up water or support mould growth, so it stays effective even in wind-driven rain and humid conditions.

Will the foam stop birds and insects getting in?

Yes. Sealing the gaps with the foam blocks the entry points for birds, wasps, large insects and wind-blown debris, which is the main reason the strips are used. It also helps dampen vibration noise in high winds.

Can the foam be used on an existing roof?

In most cases, yes. Because it is a flexible compression-fit strip, it can be pushed into the gaps of an existing Sunglaze installation. For a new roof, fit it as the panels are installed.
