Smartform 200mm x 5m
Smartform is a lead-free flashing tape with a creped aluminium top sheet and a self-adhesive butyl backing, built for complex roof profiles. This 200mm x 5m roll stretches up to 60% in length, which is enough to wrap a flashing around a 360 degree penetration in one piece. The stretch is what sets it apart: instead of cutting and joining pieces around a pipe or vent, you dress one continuous strip around the profile.

How To Apply It
Clean the surface and peel the liner, then lay the tape around the penetration, stretching it gently as you wrap. The butyl backing bonds on contact and the creped aluminium surface follows the curve without splitting. For a complex profile, work the tape around with firm hand pressure and lap the ends so the wrap is continuous. It cuts cleanly with scissors or a knife.
Applications
- One-piece wraps around 360 degree penetrations
- Flashing around pipes, vents, chimneys and roof curves
- Valleys, ridges and extreme roof profiles
- Repairs where a highly stretchable lead-free flashing is needed
What You Need To Complete The Job
For a more rigid reinforced tape use DAKAFLASH, and for a wider flashing around a pipe base pair it with WAKAFLEX. Browse the Fast Flashing range for the full kit.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does Smartform differ from Dakaflash?
Both are lead-free reinforced tapes, but Smartform stretches up to 60% in length compared with Dakaflash’s 30%. The extra stretch is what lets Smartform wrap a 360 degree penetration in one piece where Dakaflash would need careful cutting.
Is it safe for drinking water systems?
Yes. It complies with AS/NZS 4020 for contact with potable water and is tested to AS/NZS 2904 for flashings. That makes it safe for tanks and rainwater systems.
Can it handle extreme temperatures?
It operates effectively between -40C and +100C and is UV stable to DIN standards, so it holds its seal through Australian heat and cold.
Do I need to heat it to shape it?
No. The butyl backing bonds instantly and the aluminium surface dresses by hand. The stretch in the material does the conforming, so there is no heat tooling involved.
