MasterFlash No4 Square-Base 70-178mm
The MasterFlash No4 is a square-base pipe flashing for pipes from 70 to 178mm where they come through the roof. It uses a black EPDM sleeve that is flexible, weather resistant and rated to 135C intermittently, which covers most standard plumbing, vent and flue pipes. The flexible base moulds to the roof profile, and the flashing is BAL compliant, so it is suitable for use in bushfire-prone areas.

Installation
Slide the flashing over the pipe and trim the sleeve to the exact pipe diameter where needed. The EPDM sleeve seals against the pipe and the flexible base seals against the roof, forming a watertight joint without mastics.

- Flues and exhaust penetrations
- Bushfire-prone areas where a BAL-compliant flashing is wanted
- New roofs and retrofits on profiled sheeting

Frequently Asked Questions
What size range is available in MasterFlash?
The range covers pipes from 0mm up to 1m. The No4 fits pipes from 70 to 178mm, and the other numbers in the range step up and down from there so there is a flashing for most pipe sizes.
What does BAL compliant mean for this flashing?
It means the flashing meets the requirements for use in bushfire-prone areas under the BAL scheme. That makes it a valid choice for a roof penetration on a BAL-rated build.
Can I get it in a different colour?
Yes. The standard is black EPDM, with grey EPDM and high-temperature red silicone options. BHP roofing colours are available on request for a closer colour match.
How hot can the flashing get?
The black EPDM sleeve is rated to 135C intermittently. For a flue that runs hotter, choose the red silicone version, which is rated to 260C intermittently.
