Compression flashing is a Colorbond or Zincalume profile fitted with a resilient foam seal, supplied here in a 2.4m stock length. It closes the gap between cladding panels, roofing sheets and structural walls, sealing against water, dust and air leaks. The foam strip conforms to uneven surfaces on contact, and because the flashing installs by sliding between profiles with hand pressure, there are no screws, rivets or sealants to fit.

Installation

Slide the compression flashing between the cladding or roofing profile and the structural member, pressing it in with firm hand pressure. The foam seal compresses to fill the gap and holds the flashing in place, so no mechanical fixing is needed on most installs. For roofs pitched 5 degrees and over, use it along the sheet edge to close the join before the cladding is fixed over the top.
