About the EERA Klip-Lok 700 Flashing Notcher
The EERA Klip-Lok 700 Flashing Notcher cuts clean rib notches in flashings for Klip-Lok and similar clip fixed roofs. EERA lists it for Klip-Lok, clip fixed steel, architectural cladding, Metlok 700 and Topdek 700. It is designed and manufactured in Warrnambool, Victoria.
A flashing notcher, also called a flashing cutter or flashing puncher, takes the guesswork out of fitting a ridge or wall flashing over a ribbed roof. You fold the flashing, set the folded edge in the tool and pull the lever. The head is shaped to the rib and seats itself on the profile, so every notch lands in the right spot without a tape measure or a marker.
It is a tool for anyone who flashes Klip-Lok style roofs regularly: roof plumbers, sheet metal shops folding flashings to order and builders doing their own roof work.

Klip-Lok 700 or Speeddeck?
EERA makes two Klip-Lok notchers. This one, KFN-66, is the Klip-Lok 700 tool with a notch 51mm at the base and 22mm at the top. The EERA Speeddeck flashing notcher has a different notch, 57mm at the base and 18mm at the top. Both are 40mm high. Check the rib on your sheet against both sets of figures before you order.
What You Need to Complete the Job
We stock Colorbond Metlok 700, one of the profiles this tool suits, along with ready folded flashings such as the 260mm flat ridge flashing to suit Klip Lok. For the sheet ends under that flashing, the EERA turn up/down tool forms the upturns.
Frequently Asked Questions
How should I fold the flashing before notching?
EERA recommends a 90 degree fold on a sheet metal folder, 40mm long, which matches the 40mm rib. Fold the whole length first, then run along it with the notcher, seating the head at each rib before you pull the lever. A consistent fold gives a consistent notch.
Will it cut prepainted Colorbond flashing?
Yes, within its capacity. EERA rates the tool for prepainted steel up to 1mm and galvanised steel up to 1mm, with a cutting tolerance of plus or minus 0.5mm. For heavier gauges, check with us first. The tool is not designed to cut hips.
Can I fit Speeddeck blades to this tool?
No. EERA builds each notcher for one profile and the blades are not interchangeable. If you work on both Klip-Lok 700 and Speeddeck roofs, you need both tools. Replacement Klip-Lok 700 blades are by enquiry, so call us on (03) 9394 1400 and we will check with EERA.
Is the tool made in Australia?
Yes. EERA designs and manufactures the Klip-Lok 700 notcher in Warrnambool, Victoria. It has a powder coated handle and high strength hardened steel blades, and those blades can be sharpened or replaced when they wear, rather than replacing the whole tool.
