About the EERA Speeddeck Flashing Notcher
The EERA Speeddeck Flashing Notcher cuts rib notches in flashings for the profile EERA lists as Klip-Lok Speeddeck. The notch is 40mm high, 57mm across the base and 18mm across the top. It is designed and manufactured in Warrnambool, Victoria.
The tool goes by several names on site, including flashing cutter and flashing puncher. It saves marking and snipping each rib by hand: the head is shaped to the Speeddeck rib and locates itself, so you seat the folded flashing and pull the lever, rib after rib.
Because the Speeddeck notch differs from the Klip-Lok 700 notch by only a few millimetres, having the right tool for the profile is what makes the flashing sit down cleanly.

Speeddeck or Klip-Lok 700?
EERA makes two Klip-Lok notchers, and they are easy to mix up. This one, KFN-57, cuts a notch 57mm at the base and 18mm at the top. The Klip-Lok 700 flashing notcher, KFN-66, cuts 51mm at the base and 22mm at the top. Both are 40mm high and both take a 90 degree fold, 40mm long. Measure the rib on your sheet and match it to the right set of figures. Before notching a full batch, offer the first flashing up to a Speeddeck sheet to confirm it sits down over the ribs.
What You Need to Complete the Job
Flashings for the job can be folded to order or chosen from our custom flashing range. Snips for the ends, gloves and the rest of the EERA tools are in Metal Roofing Tools.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I fold the flashing for this notcher?
EERA recommends 90 degrees on a sheet metal folder, 40mm long, which matches the 40mm rib. Fold the full length before you start. An even turndown lets the head seat the same way at each rib, which keeps the notches consistent along the flashing.
Can I swap blades between the Speeddeck and Klip-Lok 700 tools?
No. EERA blades are not interchangeable, and each tool is cut for its own notch shape. If you flash both Speeddeck and Klip-Lok 700 roofs, you need both notchers. Replacement Speeddeck blades are by enquiry; call us on (03) 9394 1400 with the product code KFN-57.
What can the tool cut?
EERA rates the Speeddeck notcher for galvanised steel up to 1mm and prepainted steel up to 1mm, with a cutting tolerance of plus or minus 0.5mm. It is a manual lever tool, made for straight flashings along the ribs, and is not designed to cut hips.
Is the Speeddeck notcher made in Australia?
Yes. EERA designs and manufactures it in Warrnambool, Victoria. It has a powder coated handle and high strength hardened steel blades. The blades can be sharpened or replaced when they wear, rather than replacing the whole tool.
