Dulux Acratex Roof Sealer WB 15L
Dulux Acratex Roof Sealer WB is a water-borne primer used after cleaning sound concrete roof tiles. It locks down the surface and balances porosity so every subsequent coat of Dulux roofing paint performs at its best. The sealer is supplied as a milky liquid that dries clear, forging a uniform key for Dulux Acratex Roof Membrane Next Generation. It complements the other specialist basecoats in the range, so there is a matched primer for each roof substrate.

Typical Roof-Restoration Build-Up
Prepare the roof by replacing damaged tiles, re-bedding and pressure-washing at 4000 psi. Apply one coat of Roof Sealer WB at 10 m2 per litre and allow at least 2 hours to dry, then finish with two coats of Dulux Acratex Roof Membrane Next Generation in Gloss or Satin at 5 m2 per litre per coat. By evening out absorption, the sealer delivers uniform colour and a longer-lasting finish.
Applications
- Sealing sound concrete roof tiles before membrane coating
- Roof restoration where the tile surface is clean and stable
- Rainwater-collection roofs needing a potable-water-safe basecoat
- Commercial and residential systems where a fast dry is needed
What You Need To Complete The Job
Use the Sealer WB as the basecoat under Dulux Acratex Roof Membrane on sound concrete tile. For pitted concrete tile use the Roof Primer Surfacer, and for terracotta tile use the Terracotta Roof Primer. Browse the full Paint range for the complete system.
Frequently Asked Questions
When do I use Roof Sealer WB instead of a primer surfacer?
Use the Sealer WB on concrete tiles that are in good condition. If the tiles are aged and pitted, the high-build Roof Primer Surfacer is the better basecoat because it fills the surface imperfections first.
Why does the sealer dry clear?
The clear finish means the basecoat does not change the roof colour before the membrane goes on. It is a sealer rather than a pigmented primer, so its job is to lock down the surface and balance porosity, not add colour.
How fast can I over-coat it?
It is ready for over-coating in as little as 2 hours at 25C and 50% RH. That short window keeps commercial restoration schedules tight.
Is it safe for a rainwater tank?
Yes. Once cured, the coating is suitable for roofs used in potable-water collection systems, so it is safe for homes collecting rainwater.
