More Information

Overview

The OX Professional 900mm aluminium bullfloat is the wide float head for the first pass over fresh concrete. The heavy duty structural alloy blade rides flat on the surface to strike the concrete off and level it before the finer trowel work, and the milled finish gives a smooth working face that does not drag the mix. It is the workhorse head for the leveling pass, the one that sets the whole slab up for the trowel work that follows.

The blade is stiffened with extruded ribs along its length, so it keeps a true flat profile over the full 900mm span. A bullfloat that flexes leaves a wave in the concrete; this one holds its shape and floats a level surface across a wide strip on every pass.

Key Features

  • 900mm wide floating surface for fewer passes
  • Heavy duty structural alloy construction
  • Mill finish for a smooth working face
  • Extruded ribs add stiffness across the blade
  • Light enough for standing work on a telescopic handle
  • Professional grade concrete finishing head

Specifications

  • Blade width: 900mm
  • Material: heavy duty structural alloy
  • Finish: milled
  • Reinforcement: extruded ribs
  • Mounting: bullfloat handle fitting

Applications

  • Striking off and leveling fresh concrete
  • First float pass on large slabs
  • Standing bullfloat work on footings and floors
  • Closing the surface before troweling
  • Commercial and residential slab pours

What You Need to Complete the Job

Mount the bullfloat on an OX Pro telescopic bullfloat handle for standing reach, and switch to an OX Pro magnesium float for the pass that follows. See the Concreting Tools range for the full kit. Float the slab as soon as it is screeded, while the surface is still open.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a bullfloat used for?

A bullfloat is the first tool on fresh concrete after the screed is struck off. It levels and closes the surface across a wide strip, bringing the fines up and flattening the high spots before the concrete firms up. It is the pass that sets the slab up for the trowel work to follow.

Why are the ribs important?

The extruded ribs stiffen the blade across its full 900mm length. A stiff blade holds a true flat profile, so it floats a level surface instead of flexing and leaving a wave. That is the difference between a professional bullfloat and a light blade that bends under the pressure of the pass.

What does the milled finish do?

The milled finish gives the working face a smooth, even surface that moves over the wet concrete without dragging the mix. It also stops the concrete sticking to the blade, so the float keeps a clean face pass after pass.
