More Information

Sutton H127 111mm TCT Multi-Purpose Holesaw

The Sutton H127 is the multi-purpose holesaw series in the Sutton range, and this 111mm size, the largest in the range, carries the tungsten carbide tipped teeth that give the series its TCT name. It is built for machine or hand drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, plastic and wood, and it cuts to a 32mm depth. The body is bi-metal cobalt HSS for toughness and longer life, with the carbide tips doing the cutting edge work on this big diameter.

What You Need To Complete The Job

Set this 111mm saw up on a Sutton quick fit arbor with a BD26 pilot drill and drive it with a low-speed drill with strong torque. Use a lubricant on metal cuts. For masonry, change to an SDS masonry drill. More cutting gear is under Carpentry Tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 111mm TCT holesaw used for?

A 111mm holesaw suits exhaust fans, large vents, duct entries and inspection openings that need a hole just over 4 inches. It is a common size for roof and wall penetrations where a big fitting has to sit flush and round, and the TCT teeth keep it cutting through metal roof work.

Can a hand drill drive a 111mm saw?

It is on the edge. A hand held corded drill can drive it in timber and thin sheet if you go slowly, but at this size a pillar drill or a low-speed magnetic drill is the professional choice. The saw has a large rim and wants torque, not speed.

Why is the TCT version worth it at this size?

At 111mm the cutting edge does a lot of work per hole, and carbide tipped teeth hold their edge far longer across steel, stainless, timber and plastic. For a run of big penetrations in mixed materials, the TCT edge means fewer saw changes and cleaner holes.

Does the 32mm depth limit roof work?

It covers single skin metal roofing and wall cladding. For a full depth hole through a thicker assembly or a sandwich panel, drill the outer skin, clear the core, then continue through the far side. That keeps the hole round and the edges clean.
