Head Lap Clip 11
The Head Lap Clip 11 is a small roof tile clip that fixes tiles to the batten at the head lap, which is the point where the top of one tile overlaps the bottom of the tile above it. Its job is to hold that overlap down so strong wind cannot lift the tiles off the roof. It works on timber and metal battens and suits concrete and terracotta tiles, which makes it a useful general-purpose clip for new roofs, re-roofing and repairs.

Installation
Slide the clip over the head of the tile and hook it onto the batten below, then press it down so the tile is held against the batten. Fit clips at the head lap of every tile, or as the roof design requires, so the whole roof is held together against uplift. Because the clip grips the batten on both sides, it holds firm even where the tile has been cut short to fit.
Applications
- New tiled roof installations
- Re-roofing and roof repair work
- Roofs with metal battens where a screw-fixed clip is needed
- High-wind areas where tiles need extra hold

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a head lap clip used for?
A head lap clip holds the overlapping point of two roof tiles down against the batten. Wind can get under the head lap of a tile and lift it, and the clip stops that movement. It is a standard fixing on tiled roofs, especially in exposed or high-wind areas.
Does it work on metal battens?
Yes. The Head Lap Clip 11 grips the batten from both sides, so it holds on metal battens as well as timber. That makes it a practical choice on roofs where the battens are not wood.
Which tiles does it fit?
The clip suits concrete and terracotta roof tiles of standard profiles. If you are fixing a specific tile, check the head lap thickness against the clip opening before you order a full bag.
How many clips do I need?
That depends on the roof layout and the wind rating required. As a guide, count the tiles that need holding at the head lap and order a bag of 100 for a small job or a box of 2000 for a full roof. Your roof plan or the tile fixing schedule will give the exact count.
