Flexible Foil Duct 150mm x 6m
The flexible foil duct is a 150mm diameter ducting run that connects a roof vent, exhaust fan or rangehood to its outlet. It comes compressed in a bag and extends to a full 6m, which gives you the reach to route through a roof space or ceiling cavity. The construction is a triple-layer aluminium foil and polyester laminate reinforced with a galvanised wire helix, so it holds its shape, resists crushing and stays flexible enough to bend around obstructions.
Key Features
- 150mm internal diameter for standard roof vents and exhausts
- 6m continuous length, compressed for easy transport and storage
- Triple-layer foil and polyester laminate with galvanised wire helix
- Operating temperature range -18C to +90C
- Fire-retardant to AS4254:2012 for ceiling cavity use
- Minimum bend radius of 1 x diameter for tight routing
Specifications
- Internal diameter: 150mm
- Length: 6m (extended)
- Material: aluminium foil / polyester laminate
- Reinforcement: galvanised steel spring wire
- Temperature rating: -18C to +90C
- Maximum air velocity: 30 m/s
- Fire rating: AS4254:2012
Installation
Uncoil the duct and trim it to length with snips, leaving a little slack for fan vibration. Slide the cuff over the fan or vent spigot, seal it with aluminium tape and secure it with a stainless clamp. Support long horizontal runs every 1.5m with nylon strap so the duct does not sag, and keep a gentle fall towards the outlet so condensation can drain.
Applications
- Roof ventilators and turbine vents
- Bathroom and laundry exhaust systems
- Kitchen rangehood discharge to eave or roof cowl
- Air transfer between rooms or plenums
What You Need To Complete The Job
Pair the duct with the vent it connects to. Match it with a low profile roof vent for a roof termination, or a louvre vent kit for a wall termination. Browse the Roof Ventilation range for vents, fans and ducting.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the duct?
It is a 6m continuous length, supplied compressed in a bag. You uncoil it and trim it to the length you need with snips, allowing a little extra for connections.
What diameter does it suit?
The internal diameter is 150mm, which is the standard size for roof ventilators, bathroom fans, rangehoods and dryer outlets. It connects to the vent or fan spigot with duct tape or a stainless clamp.
Is it safe in a ceiling cavity?
Yes. The duct is fire-retardant to AS4254:2012, which is the standard that applies to flexible ducting used in ceiling cavities and roof spaces.
Can it bend around obstructions?
Yes. The minimum bend radius is one times the diameter, so the 150mm duct can bend around a 150mm radius. That makes it easy to route through tight roof spaces and ceiling voids.
How should I support a long horizontal run?
Support the duct every 1.5m with nylon strap so it does not sag under its own weight. Keep a gentle fall towards the outlet so condensation can drain, and leave a little slack at each end so fan vibration does not pull on the joints.
Can I order for delivery or pickup?
Yes. You can order online and choose Australia-wide delivery or pickup from our Truganina trade counter in Melbourne’s west. Delivery windows depend on your postcode, and we send a confirmation once your order is ready. For any questions call (03) 93941400 or email orders@singhroofingsupplies.com.au.
