Byute Flash 100mm x 10m

Byute Flash is a self-adhesive flashing tape with a paintable aluminium facing over a thick, high-tack butyl rubber backing. This 100mm x 10m roll is the mid-width stock size, and it is the one most often reached for on gutter and flashing jobs. Peel the liner, press it down and it forms an instant weatherproof seal on metal, PVC, brick, glass, fibre cement, timber and concrete, without heat or mastics.

How To Apply It

Clean and dry the surface, peel back the release liner and press the tape into place, smoothing it down with firm hand pressure. The butyl backing bonds on contact and the aluminium facing sheds water and reflects heat. Where a joint needs two pieces, lap them and press the overlap down. The tape stays flexible, so the seal does not crack as the roof moves.

What surfaces does Byute Flash stick to?

The butyl backing bonds to metal, PVC, brick, glass, fibre cement, timber and concrete. It is one of the more forgiving flashing tapes because it grips a wide range of substrates without a primer.

Can it be painted?

Yes. The aluminium facing can be overpainted with a conventional paint so the tape blends with the roof or cladding colour. That is useful on a visible flashing where bare silver foil would stand out.

How much does a roll cover?

A 100mm x 10m roll covers 10m of single-width flashing, or 5m of lapped flashing. Measure the joint run and lap allowance before ordering.

Does it need heat to stick?

No. It is a cold-applied tape. Clean the surface, peel the liner and press it down. The high-tack butyl does the bonding, which is what makes it quick to use on site.
