More Information

Sunpal Multiwall Polycarbonate Roofing Sheet

The Sunpal Multiwall is a standing seam polycarbonate roofing system built for large roof areas. Instead of screwing through the sheet, its interlocking panels join with slimline joints and concealed clips and fasteners, which gives a clean roofline and makes installation quick. It is a cost-effective choice for wide expanses of roofing and can be applied to both flat and curved design structures.

Sunpal Multiwall is available in 8mm, 10mm, 18mm and 20mm panel thicknesses, with 600mm panel widths for the 8 and 10mm panels and 1000mm widths for the 18 and 20mm panels. Maximum panel length is 11.99m. The multi-layer construction adds thermal insulation, and the twin surface UV2 protection means both faces of the panel carry UV coating, blocking 99.99% of UV radiation.

The system is rated for fire to B-s1 d0 under the European BS EN standard and the 8mm panel has a minimum cold bending radius of 2.0m, so it can follow a gentle curve. Weight runs about 1.83 kg per square metre for the 8mm panel and 2.00 kg per square metre for the 10mm panel, which keeps handling and supporting the panels manageable. Panels lock together along the long edges with concealed clips, which is why the joints are slim and why the system suits wide, uninterrupted roof areas. Because the fixings are hidden, the finished roof has no rows of screw heads across the sheet, and the panels are free to move with temperature without stressing the fastener holes.

What You Need To Complete The Job

Because Sunpal is an interlocking standing seam system, the edge profiles and fixing accessories are part of the build. The Aluminium 10mm F Section finishes the edges of the 10mm panels, and the fixing accessories and tapes live in the Polycarbonate Accessories category. The panels are in the Sunpal Multiwall category, inside the wider Polycarbonate Roofing range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose a standing seam system?

A standing seam roof has no exposed screws through the sheet surface, because the panels interlock and the clips are concealed. That gives a cleaner roofline, removes the most common leak point, and lets the panels move with temperature without stressing the fixings.

Which panel thickness should I use?

Use the 8mm or 10mm panels for most residential verandas, pergolas and carports. The 18mm and 20mm panels, at 1000mm width, are for larger commercial or long-span applications where more rigidity and insulation are needed.

Can Sunpal Multiwall be curved?

Yes. The 8mm panel has a minimum cold bending radius of 2.0m, which allows a gentle curve for arched walkways and curved roofs. For a tighter radius, check the recommended minimum for the panel thickness you are using.

Is the panel UV protected on both sides?

Yes. Sunpal Multiwall has twin surface UV2 protection, which means both faces carry a UV coating. This blocks 99.99% of UV radiation and protects the panel whether it is installed with either face exposed.

How long can panels be ordered?

The maximum panel length is 11.99m. Panels are supplied in standard length options, so choose the length closest to your run and allow for the recommended end fixings and overhang.
