What You Need To Complete The Job

Fit the blades to a high tension hacksaw frame and keep leather rigger gloves on for sharp metal edges. For the thicker material range, use the coarser 18TPI blade; for the thin range, the 32TPI. More cutting gear is under Carpentry Tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does 24TPI mean and what is it for?

24TPI means 24 teeth per inch, the middle pitch in the Sutton guide. It is the pitch for 3 to 6mm material, such as conduit, heavy sheet metal and tubing, where the teeth are fine enough for a clean cut on the thinner wall but coarse enough to clear the swarf.

Why choose a bi-metal blade?

Bi-metal blades combine a flexible body with a hard cutting edge, which makes them shatterproof and gives them superior cutting power. They are the blade to grab when the work flexes the blade or when you want a blade that resists breaking mid cut.

Will these fit my hacksaw frame?

Yes. All Sutton hacksaw blades have 300mm pin hole centres, which fit all standard size hacksaw frames. Check that your frame takes the standard 300mm length before ordering.

What is the difference between the H340 and H345 blades?

The H340 is the bi-metal blade, shatterproof with flexibility, and the H345 is the all hard blade, built for highly accurate cutting and high wear resistance. Pick the bi-metal for tough flexible cuts and the all hard for fine, accurate work.

How long will a bi-metal blade last?

A bi-metal blade lasts far longer than a plain steel blade because the flexible body resists breaking and the hard edge holds its cut. With normal use and the right TPI for the material, a 2 pack of 24TPI blades gives a long run of cutting work.
