More Information

EZ Glaze Head Wall Flashing Clear

The EZ Glaze Head Wall Flashing Clear seals the junction where an EZ Glaze roof meets a vertical wall, such as where a patio roof abuts the house. It overlaps the top edge of the 3mm EZ Glaze panels and directs rainwater away from the wall and onto the corrugated surface of the roof, so the junction stays dry and the wall and the area beneath are protected.

Unlike a lead or metal flashing that would break the glazed look, this clear polycarbonate flashing matches the transparency of the EZ Glaze panels. It is manufactured from the same high-impact, UV-resistant polycarbonate as the sheets, so it will not rust, corrode or degrade under sunlight, and it stays flexible enough to accommodate minor structural movement without cracking.

The flashing is lightweight and easy to handle, and it can be trimmed to length and secured with standard neutral-cure silicone and compatible fixings. It is the finishing detail that keeps a lean-to or veranda watertight at the wall line.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the head wall flashing used?

It is used at the top of an EZ Glaze roof where the panels meet a vertical wall, which is the common setup for a patio or veranda roof abutting the house. It overlaps the panel tops and directs water away from the wall.

Why use a clear flashing instead of metal?

A clear polycarbonate flashing keeps the glass-like aesthetic of the EZ Glaze system intact, where a metal or lead flashing would sit as a dark, heavy line across the top. It also will not rust or corrode.

Does it need a special sealant?

Standard neutral-cure silicone is recommended to bed the flashing against the wall, along with compatible fixings. The flexible polycarbonate moves slightly with the roof without cracking, so the silicone seam stays intact.

Can the flashing be trimmed to fit my roof?

Yes. The polycarbonate flashing is easy to cut to length on site with a sharp blade or fine-tooth saw, so you can fit it precisely to your wall width.

Is it the same material as the sheets?

Yes. It is manufactured from the same high-impact, UV-resistant polycarbonate as the EZ Glaze panels, so the whole roof, including the flashing, ages together and keeps a consistent finish.
