About the EERA Corrugated Flashing Notcher
The EERA Corrugated Notcher cuts notches in flashings so they sit down over a corrugated roof. It suits standard corrugated roof sheets and Custom Orb, and each cut takes out a span of 2.5 ribs with a curved, wave shaped blade. EERA designs and manufactures it in Warrnambool, Victoria.
Scribing a flashing to corrugated by hand is slow, because every curve has to be marked and cut. The notcher, also known as a flashing cutter or flashing puncher, does it with a pull of the lever. The head is shaped to the corrugation and seats on the profile, so there is no marking out.
It suits roof plumbers and sheet metal shops that flash corrugated roofs and walls often enough to want every notch the same.

Folding and Cutting
EERA recommends folding the flashing or trim to 65 degrees on a sheet metal folder, 18mm long, before notching. That matches the 18mm corrugation. With the edge folded, set it in the tool, let the curved head seat over the corrugations and pull the lever. Then move along 2.5 ribs and repeat.
If your roof is Rolltop corrugated rather than standard corrugated, use the EERA Rolltop corrugated notcher. It is built for the Rolltop sheet and its anti scratch lip.
What You Need to Complete the Job
We stock Colorbond corrugated roofing in 0.42 and the 190mm flat ridge flashing to suit corrugated roofs, which is the kind of flashing this notcher is built to cut. Add snips for trimming ends and gloves for handling cut steel.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the corrugated notcher heavier than the others?
The corrugated tool has to cut a much wider notch, 172.4mm across the base and 2.5 ribs at a time, so it is a bigger tool. It measures 580 x 190 x 190mm and has a net weight of 8kg, against 6kg for most EERA trapezoidal notchers.
Does it suit Custom Orb?
Yes. EERA lists corrugated roof sheets, Custom Orb and standard corrugated as compatible. The notch is 18mm high with a 25mm radius, matching the corrugation. Rolltop corrugated is a different sheet and has its own EERA notcher, because the blades are not interchangeable.
How thick a flashing will it cut?
EERA rates the tool for galvanised steel up to 1mm and prepainted steel up to 1mm, with a cutting tolerance of plus or minus 0.5mm. Most roof flashings sit within that range. The tool is not designed to cut hips.
Can I get replacement blades for the corrugated notcher?
Yes, by enquiry. The blades are high strength hardened steel, replaceable and sharpenable, but corrugated blade sets are not listed online. Call us on (03) 9394 1400 with the product code COR001 and we will check supply and price with EERA.
