Styrowedge 2 Piece Foam Wall Fixing 50 Pack
The Styrowedge is a two-piece fixing for foam and hollow wallboard. Two interlocking plates are inserted into the board, then an 8 to 12 gauge screw is driven in between the plates, which spreads the legs apart and locks the fixing firm against the back of the wallboard. It is a fast, reliable way to hang light to medium fittings on foam board without a cavity anchor.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Styrowedge work?
Two interlocking plates are pushed into a hole in the foam board, then an 8 to 12 gauge screw is driven between them. The screw spreads the plates apart against the back of the board, which locks the fixing firm.
What load can it hold?
Up to 20kg when fixed into sound foam wallboard with the correct screw size. As with any wall fixing, the actual load depends on the board condition and the depth of the fixing.
What screw should I use?
An 8 to 12 gauge screw. The screw threads between the two plates and spreads them, so the gauge needs to be in that range for the plates to open correctly.
Can I remove the fixing afterwards?
The screw can be withdrawn, but the plates stay behind the board. Treat it as a semi-permanent fixing and choose the anchor type accordingly if you may need to move the fitting.
