About the EERA Quad Rib Panel Notcher

The EERA Quad Rib Panel Notcher is a trim cutter for Quad Rib and 4 rib panel profiles. It cuts small, tight rib notches, 17mm high, 30mm across the base and 10mm across the top, so a trim sits down over the panel ribs. EERA states each tool is handmade in Warrnambool, Victoria.

The notch on Quad Rib is small, which makes it fiddly to cut by hand with snips and easy to get uneven. The notcher, also called a trim puncher, has a head shaped to the rib that locates itself. Seat the folded trim, pull the lever and move to the next rib.

Folding and Availability

EERA recommends folding the flashing or trim to 90 degrees on a sheet metal folder, 17mm long. With a turndown that short, an even fold matters, because small variations show up in a small notch. Try the first notched trim on the panel before you run the rest, so any fold issue shows up early.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Quad Rib the same as Ag Panel?

No, although both have a 17mm rib. The Quad Rib notch is 30mm at the base and 10mm at the top; the Ag Panel notch is 45mm and 17mm. EERA builds a separate tool for each, and the blades are not interchangeable, so match the tool to your panel.

Is the Quad Rib notcher smaller than other EERA tools?

Yes. It measures 420 x 130 x 130mm, the same as the Ag Panel tool, against 560 x 130 x 150mm for most EERA notchers. The net weight is still 6kg. The shorter body suits the low 17mm rib on Quad Rib and 4 rib panel.

Can it cut hips?

No. EERA lists hip cutting as not available on this tool. It is built for straight trims along the ribs, in galvanised or prepainted steel up to 1mm thick. Hips and angled cuts still need to be marked and cut with snips in the usual way.
