About the EERA Lokdek Flashing Notcher
The EERA Lokdek Flashing Notcher cuts rib notches in flashings for the Lokdek 680 roof profile, so the flashing drops down over each 40mm rib and sits on the pan. It is designed and manufactured by EERA Roofing Tools in Warrnambool, Victoria.
Also called a flashing cutter or flashing puncher, the tool replaces marking and snipping every notch by hand. The Lokdek notch narrows from 38mm at the base to 16mm at the top, and the notcher’s head is shaped to follow it. Seat the head on the folded edge, pull the lever and move on to the next rib.
For a roofer or sheet metal shop working Lokdek regularly, the main gain is consistency. Every notch comes out the same size and in the same place, so the flashing sits evenly from one end to the other.

Folding Before You Notch
EERA recommends folding the flashing or trim to 90 degrees on a sheet metal folder, 40mm long, to match the 40mm Lokdek rib. Fold the full length first. A straight, even fold lets the head seat the same way at every rib, which keeps the notches consistent along the run.
What You Need to Complete the Job
When the blades eventually wear, a Lokdek set is listed in our EERA replacement blades; choose the Lokdek option. Flashings to notch can be folded to order or picked from our custom flashing range, and the other EERA notchers sit in the Metal Roofing Tools range.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I buy replacement blades for the Lokdek notcher?
Yes. The Lokdek notcher is one of six EERA tools with replacement blade sets listed online. Open the EERA replacement blades product and choose Lokdek from the Suits Notcher option. Each set suits one profile only, so make sure you pick Lokdek and not one of the other five.
Is the Lokdek notcher the same as the Klip-Lok one?
No. Both cut a 40mm high notch, but the shapes differ. The Lokdek notch is 38mm at the base and 16mm at the top, while the Klip-Lok 700 tool is 51mm at the base and 22mm at the top. EERA blades are not interchangeable, so use the tool made for your profile.
What thickness of flashing can it cut?
EERA rates it for galvanised steel up to 1mm and prepainted steel up to 1mm, with a cutting tolerance of plus or minus 0.5mm. It works with a manual lever, so there is nothing to plug in. It is not designed to cut hips.
Is the Lokdek notcher made in Australia?
Yes. EERA designs and manufactures it in Warrnambool, Victoria. The tool has a powder coated handle and high strength hardened steel blades, and the blades can be sharpened or replaced when they wear, rather than replacing the whole tool.
