About the EERA Panelco Flashing Notcher
The EERA Panelco Flashing Notcher cuts rib notches in flashings for the European Panelco profile, and EERA also lists it for Solarspan in Australia. The notch is 43mm high, 66mm across the base and 25mm across the top. The tool is designed and manufactured in Warrnambool, Victoria, and carries a yellow handle.
Known in the trade as a flashing cutter or flashing puncher, the notcher takes over the marking and snipping at every rib. The head is shaped to the Panelco rib and self locates, so you seat the folded edge, pull the lever and move on.
At 43mm, the notch is one of the tallest in the EERA range we list. Cutting a notch that size by hand on every rib is slow work.

Folding and Availability
EERA recommends folding the flashing or trim to 50 degrees on a sheet metal folder, with a 43mm turndown. The fold is shallower than on most EERA notchers, so set the folder carefully before you start a long run. Check the first flashing against the sheet before you notch the rest.
Panelco is a European profile, so please contact us on (03) 9394 1400 or orders@singhroofingsupplies.com.au for current availability before ordering.
What You Need to Complete the Job
If you are flashing a Solarspan roof in Australia, also see our Solarspan flashing notcher. Flashings can be folded to order through the custom flashing range, and the rest of the EERA tools are in Metal Roofing Tools.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Panelco notcher suit Solarspan?
EERA lists Panelco (European) and Solarspan (Australia) as compatible with this tool, and the published notch figures for the two EERA tools are the same: 43mm high, 66mm at the base, 25mm at the top. If you only flash Solarspan, call us on (03) 9394 1400 and we will help you choose between the two listings.
What fold angle does it need?
EERA recommends 50 degrees on a sheet metal folder, with a 43mm turndown. Fold the full length of the flashing first so the edge is even. That lets the head seat the same way at every rib and keeps the notches consistent.
How thick a flashing can it cut?
EERA rates the Panelco notcher for galvanised steel up to 1mm and prepainted steel up to 1mm, with a cutting tolerance of plus or minus 0.5mm. It is a manual lever tool and is not built to cut hips.
Can I get replacement blades for the Panelco notcher?
Yes, by enquiry. The blades are high strength hardened steel, replaceable and sharpenable, but Panelco blade sets are not listed online. Call us on (03) 9394 1400 with the product code PFN-61 and we will check supply and price with EERA.
